want to purchase beginner steel drum

Can you help? My wife has always been in love with the sound of the steel drum ... she has recently expressed the desire to learn to play this marvelous instrument. Problem is I don't have the foggiest notion on where to purchase one, indeed, what type to purchase, or where to get lessons etc.

Can anyone help?
